Wood Burners
The Right Fuel For optimum results, we recommend logs should be seasoned for 2 years or more to achieve a moisture content below 20%. This will not only give twice the output of freshly felled timber but help avoid a build up of tar in your flue. Even better, if you can get hardwood logs they will have around twice the calorific value of softwoods. We can supply stoves from all the top UK manufacturers, click on the links below to see samples. (Links open in a new window, just close it to return here)

Most wood burning stoves will also burn solid fuels
A beautiful living fire enclosed in a stylish and elegant stove that will become the focus of the room, that will also pump out heat at an astonishing rate and will also be good for your carbon footprint. Sounds too good to be true? Not with the new generation of woodburning stoves. In these days of spiralling costs of fossil fuels, installing a woodburner has never made more sense. Trees are a natural store of carbon dioxide, meaning that when burnt they only release what they have stored during their life cycle. If you can obtain wood from managed plantations you not only have a lower carbon footprint but you are also using a sustainable fuel source. |
